Brandon McCoy picks UNLV, spurns Arizona and Oregon

UNLV’s new man in the middle.

The No. 15 player in the senior class according to ESPN, Brandon McCoy committed to UNLV to play for Coach Marvin Menzies Tuesday night.

The Californian center chose the Running Rebels over Arizona, Oregon, and Michigan State.

McCoy was one of the last top 100 unsigned recruits, and his decision to take his talents to Las Vegas comes as a surprise.

The Rebels are adding a beast to their roster. McCoy is 7 feet tall, 245 pounds, and controls the paint as well as any other high school big man.

For UNLV, coming off of an 11-21 season – that included going 4-14 in the Mountain West – this is a huge recruit for them.

Menzies still has a lot of work to do but McCoy will be an impact player right away.
